The Murshidabad College of Engineering & Technology (MCET), established in 1998, under the society for MCET&HRD stands as a beacon of technological and professional excellence in West Bengal. This institution is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). MCET benefits from the financial and administrative support of the Government of West Bengal and the Murshidabad Zilla Parishad (MZP), reflecting its strong foundation and community backing. MCET's commitment to delivering high-quality education is further reinforced by the substantial financial support it has received. Under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) Phase-II, the college was granted a fund of 12 crore INR by the World Bank. Murshidabad, known all over the country as a renowned place of historical heritage and tradition still remains a backward agricultural district.
